ATTENTION: Philips Respironics Recall

There has been a recent recall of Philips Respironics machines. There have been rare instances of sound abatement foam breakdown.

Machines involved include:

DreamStation

          System One

          C series

          Trilogy ventilators

          Travel CPAP machines

If you believe your machine has been recalled, please visit: usa.philips.com/healthcare/e/sleep/communications/src-update for more information.

Once there:

Enter your SN (serial number) from the bottom of your machine – it should start with letter J or S

Register your machine

This website should provide answers to commonly asked questions and updated information.

If you are using a “So Clean” machine or ozone cleaner-discontinue use of cleaner.

If you see black residue in your water container or filter contact provider immediately for guidance.

If you have an older machine at home that is not part of the recall you may choose to utilize the older machine -make sure it is on appropriate settings.

Why should I join the Athena portal?

The Athena portal allows you to request refills of controlled substances, send messages directly to the office, schedule an appointment, and access billing and payments.

How do I get my mask adjusted?

We do mask fittings and acclimations during our clinic hours.

How did I get assigned a medical equipment provider?

We first honor any patient request – if you have a provider you prefer please let us know. We work with all available suppliers.

Next, we use providers that have the best coverage by your insurance entity. Out of those providers, we will usually choose a provider with whom we have experience, and feel provides the highest quality of care. Please let us know of any problems you have with equipment providers so we can facilitate, and be aware of quality issues.

Where to get your questions answered:  

You will receive services from three separate entities.

1. Testing – The actual sleep study is performed by St. Tammany Parish Hospital Sleep Disorders Center or North Oaks Sleep Disorders Center. For information on scheduling a test, cancelling a test, or specifics about the test call 985-871-5987 for St. Tammany or 985-230-6087 for North Oaks.

2. Clinic services – For care received by Dr. Lauren Davis, clinic services through Pontchartrain Sleep Medicine, or interpretation of your sleep study call 986-845-1799.

3. Medical equipment – For any questions about your CPAP mask, equipment or bill for CPAP equipment call your specific durable equipment supplier. There should be a sticker on your equipment with the contact number.
