Cleaning of your CPAP equipment 

CAUTION: DO NOT clean any parts of the system with alcohol or cleaning solutions containing alcohol or abrasives.

 We DO NOT recommend the use of any ozone cleaners, such as “So Clean.”

Check your interface (mask) after each cleaning. Most silicone or gel masks were designed to last from 3 to 6 months with proper care. Some may last longer, but it is recommended you change the interface after 6 months of use. Although silicone is not susceptible to harden, it can tear. The actual life of the interface can vary greatly, depending upon use. Replace the interface when it leaks air excessively, there is a tear in the cushion, or it becomes uncomfortable to wear.

Cleaning Procedure: Items may include a mask, cushions, pillows, connectors, and tubing.

Step 1. Remove headgear from the interface. Disconnect any shell or retention ring from the blower hose. Note: Some masks do not breakdown.

Step 2. With a soft cloth, gently wash all the parts of the interface with a mild solution of warm, soapy water such as Dawn or Joy dishwashing detergent. Run soapy water through blower hose.

Note: DO NOT use any cleaners containing fragrance, conditioners, or moisturizers.

Step 3. Rinse thoroughly. If any part or parts still seem oily, wash them again.

Step 4. Allow everything to dry completely before reassembling and using them again. The blower hose can be hooked up to the machine to dry inside tubing.

Cleaning the Headgear and Chin strap: These items should be cleaned as needed.

Step 1. To maximize the life of the cloth/soft goods, hand washing with a standard laundry detergent is recommended. DO NOT use bleach.

Step 2. Allow to dry before use.

Cleaning the Humidifier: Discard any remaining water from the reservoir. If your humidifier has a heater, allow it to cool before cleaning. Wash the reservoir every couple days with warm soapy water or place on top rack of dishwasher. Rinse and allow to dry before use. Weekly, soak the reservoir and tubing in 2 parts water and 1 part house hold vinegar.

Cleaning Blower unit(machine): Wipe down with damp cloth as needed. Keep free of dust or other material. Some blower units have intake filters that require washing weekly or monthly.
